Robots took my job!

Do you believe one day you will wake up unemployed having your job taken over by a robot? 

How would  you feel?

Let us insert some logic here. what are the odds and which jobs are much more likely to be lost by machines? I strongly believe its very easy to find that. The jobs that will replace humans with robots are anything that doesn't need creative thinking.

Which means that someone who is only doing a practical work such as taxi driver or builder or even an accountant (unless the last is doing creative accounting) is probably not going to be needed in the recent future. But there is a silver lining here. I mean at least in a corporation there will be a new job opening. Except from the HR (human resources) there is going to be a need for RR (robot resources).

So robots are becoming day by day smarter and smarter and can operate autonomously to an extent. 

This is Google self-driving car. It's already here. 

There is only one gap left in order to get in to your self driving car and go to work. Obviously the gap is legal and trust issues. Can you trust a machine? Let me give you a hint there. NO. But can you trust a human? Nope. So eventually its gonna happen. 

so except from you being driven by your car to work suddenly there is no need for humans in transportation. Construction too. Day by day we become obsolete by robots. 

Gladly robots do not have what we call human intelligence.

The power to imagine and create something.

So managers will probably lose their job last. 

But let's not be so afraid of the rise of the machines.

I mean humanity is always based on exploitation of the weak to prosper. So if that is going to happen truth is that robots will make life easier for humanity. 

Which will allow us perhaps to try and find the true meaning of our existence. To try and explore the universe and its mysteries and not trying to get a limit up in the stock market or pay a mortgage. 

Maybe eventually we will manage to become a superior planet that will seek answers in to the universe. 

That may lead to stop being so human. Perhaps its a sacrifice that we should take? 

Or humans need to be humans? 

I don't know. You tell me.

Is google Skynet? Singularity is near?

Is google Skynet? If that is true is it gonna be like the movie? How is the apocalypse going to happen?

Seriously if something like that will happen I only wish I can survive so that I could kill some fucking machines! OK I might not be John fucking Connor but I want to live this apocalyptic scenario!

So what is Skynet? Or who IS Skynet?

As the terminator himself says on terminator 2:

OK. That scence gives me the goosebumps every fucking time. I don't know what the fuck was on Jame's Cameron mind but that guy is teh shit. 

So let us thank that guy for bringing one of the BEST SCI-FI movies ever.

My thoughts are that the digital world is moving way too god damn fast. So HOPEFULLY we might get to live a nuclear holocaust from the machines (even if its a Matrix scenario). So why do I believe that its gonna be google who will breed the new Skynet?

OK its pretty basic. I'll give you that. But so was t-1

So google is buying a lot of robotics companies. It only needs to reach technology to one bit of level. BUT! Let us think what the true power of Skynet is. He is a software. A cloud. He exists everywhere. He is a fucking god and there is no way you can defeat a god bitch!

Google is fucking everywhere digitally right now. So its very easy to lose control over a machine very very fast. The real challenge here is SELF AWARENESS. The moment we get that we are so fuuuuuuucked!

We got some very nice bases set up. A machine can control the internet within seconds. Robotics are moving incredibly fast and they are going very easily connected to the cloud. 

Human kind is really overrarted anyway. A mortal kind of life with no logic continuity on it. So we really do not stand a change right? Yep. 

One T-800 can destroy a whole city. And its a fucking assassin! Not even a war machine. 

So I really dont want to argue on the whole time space continuum going on at the movie. First of all there are holes everywhere. Why wouldnt they be after all? Its time travel? What could you possibly know more about it? Its a movie!

The thing about the Terminator is that one thing about the movie is actually plausible!

Google could be Cyberdyne.

Its a major technology company that pretty much owns most of the internet. Most stuff are being done online anyway. You still find hard to trigger some fucking nukes by a self aware machine?

You only need one second of self awareness and then you have it. The nuclear apocalypse we are all hoping for. 

Google is Skynet.

Why screamers are scary. Why I stopped fearing them.

A screamer is typically a flash webpage with the only purpose being to scare you. 

It usually comes with high pitched sound and a very scary moving image. 

So as you may have noticed from the last one it really got famous with was the maze game. 

It just happened over a night. Viral!

I have to admit that in the beginning it was really making my heart bounce like crazy.

But after a while I realized that the new generations manage to really don't give a damn.

I mean seriously. It's total apathy for me now. 

So my theory comes in two parts. 

The first part is that we learned to expect it now. I mean when you see a suspicious link especially ending in .swf you kinda wait for the screamer to pop up. So even if you click it, you know what is coming to you.

The second part is mostly psychology. We have become so apathetic that even something that is designed to scare a human being doesn't affect. 

Something I like to call "The origin of the digital species"!

Human beings evolve and become day by day more of a machine than a human. Singularity is something that is getting closer. 

Let's not go in to conspiracy stuff. I just say we slowly go to the digital evolving of our species. Perhaps we will turn out like the bald guys in Fringe?

Who knows? But we are definitely evolving that is for sure.


One thing though. I believe we need ALOT of time to achieve full apathy. 

I can convince you. There is one web comic that will scare you really really bad.

That is all about the screamers. They come and go and one day they will be completely gone. Because now we are prepared.
